JK knocks "peaking talk" for six

While the rest of the world has been quick to jump on the "All Blacks are peaking too soon" bandwagon, one of New Zealand's great wingers - John Kirwan (the Mangere butcher's apprentice) - has rubbished such talk.  Over in South Africa as a RWC11 Ambassador, JK has pointed out that the All Blacks & the New Zealand public expect to be number one & therefore need to be peaking all the time.

Japies - Enough about 1995!

Only in South Africa could a commentator during a soccer World Cup match between Brazil & North Korea start talking about Joel Stransky's bloody drop goal in the 1995 World Cup final!  All it needed was the game to be held at Ellis Park & the ball to be somewhere in that half of the field.

The Boks won it in 2007 so why do they always have to harp back to 1995?  As I was there at Ellis Park on that fateful day in 1995 there are only so many shots of Mandela handing the trophy to Francois Pienaar that I can take!

RWC 2011 - The Great One to lead volunteers

The greatest ever product of Henderson High School, Michael Niko Jones, had been appointed the Rugby World Cup volunteer ambassador

The organisers are looking for 5,000 volunteers during the tournament so if you miss out on tickets this may be your way in though you probably have more chance of making the World Cup squad itself.

RWC 2011 - You'll need luck to be at Eden Park

Latest Rugby World Cup ticketing update has an over-subscription for tickets for games at Eden Park.  Seems they are going to carry out a "randomisation process" to determine which applications are successful whatever that means?!?

Seems the demand wasn't as high in the provinces & I thought dairy prices were on the surge again!

All Black X-factor - A different view

I have a bit of a different take on this. I think the superstars are still out there in the NZ system but we see so much more of them now due to professional rugby & the saturation TV coverage of it.

Where is that All Black X-factor!

This is something i have been thinking about for some time with the All Blacks playing solidly but not having a secret weapon or possibly as many superstars as they have previously had going into t

RWC 2011 looks like the fakes are already out!

Not even bothering to wait a full day before luring in un-suspecting victims with offers of available world cup tickets at 1.5 times the officially advertised prices, some sites in Europe seem to b

Ticket Registrations are Open for RWC 2011

In 7 minutes time the tickets will be available (well pre-reg) for Venue and team packs anyway.

NZ Rugby Community Ticket applications, Ready Steady Go!

The countdown is well and truely on for the tickets to the rugby world cup 2011, While most of the questions revolve around will NZ make it to the final a more important question should probably be will I (you!) be at any of the games? With the chances at being at the Final or semi final kind of low in my opinion (especially if you haven't been to pool games).
