Just as you thought Rotation was dead

The dreaded term - Rest & Rotation - seemed to have been buried but is starting to rear its ugly head with Graham Henry discussing the need to start Aaron Cruden in some tests this year "sooner rather than later".

One of the positive aspects this year has been the consistency in selection with combinations being developed.  Players such as Kaino & Mealamu have gone to a new level with solid game time.

While I recognise the need to blood a suitable replacement if Carter falls over injured - could the same not be said for McCaw yet there is not another openside in the squad of 28?  Cruden is at best rather green at Super 14 level.  Would Delany not be a better option if he returns to fitness?

Giving Cruden a start against Scotland surrounded by experienced All Blacks I could handle.  But if he starts in Sydney alongside a host of other "second-string" All Blacks then I will not be happy (especially if Aussie win to break that losing streak).

We've gone down the Rest & Rotation route before - please not again.
