What's the old adage about not changing a winning team? Dare I mention Graham Henry & the word rotation in the same sentence but there are 7 changes to the All Black starting XV for this week's second test in the Tron.
To be fair some of these were enforced by injury with Mils replacing Dagg, Kahui replacing Conrad Smith & Tom Donnelly returning to replace Boric. Amongst the unenforced changes both the Franks brothers have been replaced by Woodcock (reward for his showing last week?) & Tialata. The other two changes are the merry-go-round at blindside with Kaino returning & Zac Guildford replacing the Rocket Man on the left wing.
Interesting enough, five of the starters weren't even in the 22 last week & there may be a bit of rust amongst those returning from injury. This would be the main concern I would have for this selection as well as the inclusion of Chiefs players who will bring their Waikato Stadium 2010 jinx with them.
The most heartening aspect is that Rene Ranger has been included on the bench & is set to make his debut which is reward for two fine seasons in a struggling Blues outfit. Is he also taking Sione Lauaki's role as bar room enforcer in the set up?
