What is going on with the importing of half backs & first fives into the Auckland area?  First of all the Blues draft in Alby Mathewson, Stephen Brett & Daniel Kirkpatrick & now the Auckland Rugby Union have signed Toby Morland & Matt Berquist for the NPC.

 
I understand they may have been caught short by Daniel Bowden going overseas & I won't shed any tears if Taniela Moa isn't selected but there is plenty of young home grown talent that deserves a shot.  At halfback there is Grayson Hart, Brenton Helleur & Dave Ormrod.  At first five Ash Moeke played well for Auckland last year & then there is the promising James Semple waiting in the wings.
 
If they are going to just buy in journeymen instead of using this talent they may as well shut down their much vaunted Academy!
